EMERGENCY CARE

Even though we are mobile vet clinic, we are not an emergency ambulatory service and thus may not be able to accommodate all immediate emergencies. We try to see all clients on an appointment basis and will see emergencies as present time, schedule, and location allow.

Laboratory Tests

Laboratory tests, such as blood tests, urinalysis, fecal exams and other laboratory services, will be used to help provide a full diagnostic picture of the pet's health. Our Mobile Vet Vehicle will have its own an on-site laboratory for many tests. We will also use an outside reference laboratory for some cases. A fecal test will be performed with a stool sample, and will be done for dogs as well as cats or ferrets. The test is for intestinal parasites. The type of fecal test performed is a fecal floatation test to check for parasite eggs. All other parasites that may be found on the fecal test require a special medication that will be recommended if required.

DENTAL CARE

We  provide regular professional oral examinations to maintain the pet's teeth. Upon examination, we will advise on the pet’s dental needs. In some cases, a dental prophylaxis/cleaning or advanced care may be needed. Unfortunately, most pets will not allow us to perform this procedure safely and efficiently while awake. We will utilize gas anesthesia and provide continuous anesthetic monitoring during all dental procedures. Pre-dental blood work will help better determine the risk of anesthesia for the pet, is available for all patients, and is mandatory in some instances. Placing an intravenous/IV catheter and maintaining the pet on intravenous fluids during a dental procedure is also an option for patients. During a dental cleaning, we will perform a thorough oral exam probing of every tooth for pockets and lesions. We then utilize an ultrasonic dental scaler and polisher to clean and polish each tooth thoroughly above and below the gum line. This process will help keep the pet's tooth surface, smooth and lustrous, making them more resistant to plaque buildup and decay. We will also offer as an option Oravet, the first plaque prevention system for pets.

Animal Rescue and Shelter

We will operate an animal rescue and animal shelter which will be devoted to the temporary care and shelter of homeless or unwanted animals. We strive to put up an animal shelter, which will be responsible for temporarily caring of stray and homeless dogs and cats. These animals will be brought to the shelter when found as strays or turned over by owners who no longer want them.

Our shelter will:

  • Work diligently to place as many animals as possible into responsible, loving homes.

  • Distribute a variety of educational materials on proper pet care, animal behavior issues and overpopulation. These references will be disseminated not only to those people adopting or giving up pets, but also to the general public also through community education and outreach programs.

  • Be well maintained and have a cheerful, bright appearance.

  • Have hours that are convenient to the most people possible.

  • Have a comprehensive health care program that includes both treatment of sick animals and preventive inoculations and medication.

  • Ensure that the animals in its care are clean, dry, and as comfortable as possible.

  • Aim to reduce stress for the animals in its care through grooming, exercise, behavioral enrichment, separation of species, and general tender loving care.

  • Have a friendly, inviting staff that is willing and able to assist the public.
